HENNESSY VS LIMITED EDITION BY JONONE
We were thrilled to cater another outstanding event for Hennessy, who has a long history of supporting the Arts. Miami was the last stop on the four-city launch tour of the limited edition Hennessy bottle designed by renowned urban graffiti artist, John "JonOne" Perello. JonOne has become extolled worldwide as one of the most groundbreaking graffiti artists to come out of New York city.
His work explodes with unharnessed creativity and bold color, making him a perfect fit for Hennessy V.S.'s ongoing series of partnerships with established international artists. Following in the footsteps of iconic street artists KAWS, Futura, OSGEMOS, Shepard Fairey, Ryan McGuinness and Scott Campbell, Hennessy tapped JonOne as its first Latino artist to collaborate on a design for the very special bottle.
A SHARED PASSION FOR THE ART OF BLENDING
For the seventh installment in its annual limited edition artist-designed bottle, JonOne infused and layered his own freestyle splashes of vibrant color with Hennessy's branding and imagery to echo the layers of flavors and aromas born during the cognac blending process. "I can relate to that emotion {of love}: they create beauty with their own hands, they know the joy of creation. For them and for me, it's not just a job, it's part of your life," the artist commented.
To celebrate the collaboration, the guest of honor gave a live art performance at the Cafeina Wynwood Lounge. VIP guests, such as Miami Heat's James Johnson and rappers Ace Hood and Fat Joe, enjoyed artist-inspired Hennessy cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres and sweets by Eggwhites Catering. Guests snacked on Mini Beef Empanadas with Green Chile Ribbon, Curried Crab Salad Topped Papadums, Mini Pork Tacos with Green Apple Slaw and Chocolate Espresso S'mores Bars.
PRIMARY COLORS
The custom craft cocktails being poured were named "Primary Colors". with VS being used as the base spirit, each cocktail has their own distinct taste and garnish. Yellow included lemongrass syrup, ginger beer and a lemongrass stick garnish. Blue included tonic water and a paint brush garnish. Red included cinnamon syrup, lime juice, ginger beer and a cinnamon stick garnish.
The energy was electric as JonOne painted at record speed to complete his final piece of art for the U.s. tour, which also included stops in Los Angeles, New York and Austin. World-famous DJ Ruckus provided the beats as JonOne live-painted on a glass canvas. As DMX's "Ruff Ryders Anthem" filled the room, JonOne put the finishing touches on his masterpiece and then raised his custom-made bottle in the air, signaling his work of art was finished.
