South Florida is one of BMW’s biggest markets in the U.S. Therefore it was no surprise that the Munich-based automaker decided to launch their face-lifted 2011 BMW X5 in Miami and the Everglades. Eggwhites was thrilled to provide an Everglades catering menu for this Miami product launch of the new BMW X series.
Journalists from all over the world including Russia, Asia, South America, Middle East (just to name a few) were invited to get the full “X” experience at this fabulous six-day event. During their stay they were given different routes to test drive the vehicle. After cruising around South Beach to enjoy the ocean breezes, guests were given the chance to take cars off-road. They hit the Everglades to traverse through a series of waters that reached about two-thirds up the fender!
EVERGLADES CATERING FOR BMW MIAMI PRODUCT LAUNCH
One of the highlights was a pit stop at Mack’s Fish Camp located in an area of the Everglades known as Alligator Alley. Mack’s Fish Camp is one of the most remote settlements in Broward County and the last outpost of the Everglades world we have almost forgotten. The 70-year-old family-owned swamp community is vibrant with Gladesmen folk culture. The community is more than accustomed to the alligators that swim right up to the back door.
Here journalists enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the pristine Everglades. Airboat rides, the expected alligator sightings and a delicious BBQ were some of the activities that were offered throughout each day.
Each day, Eggwhites created an All American Barbecue menu that featured a grill station with made-to-order juicy Angus beef cheeseburgers with all the fixings. Also on the menu were crispy skinned wings, grilled spicy shrimp skewers and veggie brochettes.
Guests also enjoyed freshly baked corn bread and biscuits, “mama’s” fresh garden salad with yellow and red tomatoes, and classic mac n’ cheese. To finish off on a sweet note, guests beat the heat with chilled watermelon, delectable mini key lime pie and, fresh pineapple lollipops. Specialty novelty ice cream novelties were served by Eggwhites staff from a vintage ice cream cart.
