Eggwhites collaborates with X1 and Chapman Partnership
In collaboration with X1, an organization committed to alleviating hunger locally and worldwide, Eggwhites Catering is doing our part by making sure the food we purchase and prepare does not go to waste but nourishes people, not trash receptacles! We are committed to distributing safe, usable, nutritious and delicious food to people in our local community who are experiencing hunger. We are, after all, Eggwhites Special Event Catering, and Eggwhites are a prized source of low-fat, high protein nutrition!

In 2015, Jean-Pierre Khouieri and his team of volunteers at X1 have been coming regularly to the Eggwhites commissary to pick up enough food to provide over 1,000 hot meals year to date. Our food is distributed through the Chapman Partnership, which operates two Homeless Assistance Centers with 800 beds located in Miami and Homestead. Collectively these two Centers serve approximately 5,000 men, women and families with children annually.

South Florida Food Insecurity is a Very Real Problem
Did you know that we throw away 165 billion dollars worth of food per year in America?!? Did you know that nearly 1 million South Floridians do not know where their next meal is coming from? An estimated 296,600 of those residents are children. 29 percent of these food insecure South Floridians don’t qualify for federal nutrition programs and are forced to rely on emergency programs.
“We should be giving out close to 100 million pounds of food per year” to fight hunger on the local level,” Feeding South Florida’s board chairman Diana Brooks told the Sun Sentinel last year.”There’s a place at the table for everyone to get involved.”
Everyone can play a role in the fight against hunger. For more information on how you can help fight hunger in South Florida, visit www.x1.org and Chapman Partnership.
